The front image of the postcard shows the interior of the Irvin Works. On the back the text reads "One of four giant roughing stands in the 80-inch continuous hot strip mill at the Irvin Works of Carnegie Illinois Steel Corp. located on the Monongahela River above Pittsburgh-McKeesport-Clairton, Pa. This mill is of the universal type, being equipped with vertical rolls for edging strip steel. As the strip emerges from this mill, the end is squared by rotary shears." There is no postage or written message present on the back of the card. The card was published by Minsky Bros. & Co., of Pittsburgh, PA.
