Title Mill Safety Posters
Scope & Content The collection contains eighty-two, 17" x 22" safety posters, which were produced for use in area steel mills (U. S. Steel Corp).
The multicolored posters are hand silk-screened cartoons, and display safety reminders and warnings.
The earliest series of posters (1957) have a United States Steel Corporation copyright, while the other series are by the PMA Corporation, Pittsburgh, PA.
Each poster series is number, and have been arranged consecutively.

Admin/Biographical History Jack Boot Displays printing company was located on Main Street in Munhall, PA. The company later moved to West Run Road, Munhall, PA.
From 1957 through 1974, the company was commissioned to print mill safety signs for the United States Steel Corporation (USS). USS designed the earliest posters in the collection (1957). From 1961 - 1974, the posters were designed by the PMA.
